Terms and Conditions

Net Tenerife · Tenerife, Spain

These terms set out the rules for using the hirecartenerife.com website. They do not set out the rules for renting a car: that document is a separate rental agreement between you and the supplier, signed at the pickup desk. By searching, filtering or sending a booking request through this site, you accept the terms below for your use of the site itself.

1. What Net Tenerife is, and what it is not

Net Tenerife runs hirecartenerife.com as an independent comparison and referral service for car hire in Tenerife. We are not a car rental company. We own no vehicles, operate no rental desk at either Tenerife South Airport (TFS) or Tenerife North Airport (TFN), and we do not sign rental agreements. Every car shown on this site belongs to, and is hired out by, one of the independent rental suppliers whose live inventory we display.

When you submit a search, we pass your dates and preferences to the supplier network and show you what comes back. When you send a booking request, we forward it to the supplier you chose. The contract for the actual rental, the deposit, the fuel policy, the insurance and the mileage allowance, is formed between you and that supplier, under their own terms, not under this page. If we earn a commission when your booking is confirmed, that commission is paid to us by the supplier and never changes the price you are quoted.

2. Prices and availability shown on this site

Every price and every available car on hirecartenerife.com is pulled from a live third-party feed at the moment you load or refresh the page. Across the current Tenerife listings this feed carries, most cars list for under €50 a day, a minority are automatic, and a smaller group again are SUVs or premium models. Those figures move throughout the day as suppliers add stock, adjust rates or sell out of a category, so a price you saw yesterday is an indication, not a quote we can guarantee today.

The price and terms that bind anyone are the ones printed on the supplier's own confirmation after you book, not the figure shown on the search grid. If a listing is clearly wrong, for example a daily rate that is a fraction of every comparable car, the supplier is entitled to decline a booking placed against it, and we may correct or withdraw the listing without notice.

3. The rental agreement is with the supplier

Your rental agreement, including the deposit hold, the fuel policy, the mileage allowance, the insurance excess and any young-driver conditions, is a separate contract you sign with the supplier at handover. Across the fleet we currently show, deposit requirements and policies differ by vehicle, some listings ask for no deposit at all while others hold up to around €700, and the exact figure for your chosen car is the one printed on that listing and repeated on your confirmation, not a figure fixed by this page.

Minimum driver age, licence requirements, the documents you must bring to the counter and what is checked at handover are all set by the supplier, and can differ between suppliers operating in Tenerife. Read the specific listing before you confirm a booking rather than assuming it matches another car you compared it against.

4. Using this website

You may browse, search and compare the Tenerife listings on this site freely, without creating an account, and you may link to any page here. You may not scrape or automatically harvest the live feed for resale, republish our written pages under another domain, or present yourself to a third party as Net Tenerife or as one of the rental suppliers listed here.

The text, layout, logo and design of hirecartenerife.com belong to Net Tenerife or are used under licence, and nothing on this page gives you a right to copy or reuse them commercially. Car photographs, badges and specifications belong to their respective suppliers or manufacturers and are shown for identification only.

5. Links to supplier and third-party sites

A booking request can take you to a page operated by the supplier rather than by us, for payment or for document upload. Once you leave hirecartenerife.com, that supplier's own terms and privacy notice apply to what happens next, and we are not responsible for the content or conduct of a site we do not operate.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time, most often when a change in the supplier network or in Spanish or EU consumer law makes it necessary. The version published at the moment you submit a search or a booking request is the one that applies to that use of the site. We do not notify individual visitors when the page changes, so check back before relying on an earlier reading of it.

7. Limitation of liability

Because we do not own the vehicles, inspect them or hold your deposit, our own responsibility under these terms is limited to the operation of this website: keeping it running, displaying the supplier feed accurately and passing on the requests you submit. We are not liable for the condition, maintenance, performance or availability of a vehicle, for a late or early handover, for a dispute over damage or a deposit, or for any charge added by a supplier at the counter.

Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything that Spanish or EU law does not permit a business to exclude. Nothing here reduces the statutory rights a consumer resident in Spain or elsewhere in the EU holds and cannot be asked to give up.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and your use of hirecartenerife.com, are governed by the law of Spain, as an EU member state. Any dispute between you and Net Tenerife about this website that cannot be settled directly is subject to the courts of Spain, without affecting any right a consumer domiciled elsewhere in the EU has to bring proceedings in their own country instead. Your rental agreement is a separate contract and may name its own governing law and venue, usually that of the supplier.

9. Severability

If a court decides that one clause of these terms cannot stand, the rest of the terms remain in force. Our choosing not to enforce a clause on one occasion does not mean we have given it up for future use.

10. How to contact us

Questions about these terms, or about a booking request you sent through this site, can be sent to [email protected]. We do not take phone enquiries; email keeps a written record for both sides and is the quickest way to reach the right person. Please include your booking reference where you have one, so we can match it against the request we hold.

See also the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which cover how we handle your data and what this site stores in your browser.

Questions readers ask about these terms

No. You submit a search and a booking request through this website, and the booking itself is confirmed by the rental company that owns the car. Net Tenerife is the directory and messenger between the two of you, not the party that hires out the vehicle.
The figure shown on this site is read from the supplier's live feed at the moment you searched. Rates change with demand, and a listing can also carry optional extras, a young-driver surcharge or a one-way fee that only appears once you open the booking. The confirmation the supplier sends you is the figure that applies.
The supplier named on your confirmation. They hold the rental agreement, the deposit and the vehicle condition record, so they are the only party able to resolve a dispute about any of those. We can point you to the right contact if you have lost it.
Yes. Reading, filtering and comparing the listings carries no obligation and needs no account. The rental agreement itself, and Spanish law, only start to apply once you sign for a car in Tenerife.
An obviously wrong listing, such as a price with a digit missing, does not have to be honoured by the supplier, and we can correct or remove it at any time. Genuine errors on our side that cause you a loss are handled under the limitation in section 7 below, subject to anything Spanish consumer law will not let us exclude.
